On 27 November 2025, CCISEA and WHA organised the webinar “Foreign Markets – Focus on Indonesia and Halal Markets.”
Global demand for Halal-certified products is growing significantly: it is estimated that the global Halal market will exceed USD 3 trillion by 2028, with over 1.9 billion Muslim consumers worldwide, including around 300 million in Southeast Asia alone.
The Indonesian market currently represents a major opportunity for Italian SMEs whose products are Halal certified. In fact, for several product categories (cosmetics, food, pharmaceuticals, etc.), exports will only be permitted if products are Halal certified.

CCISEA and WHA – World Halal Authority, a leading Halal certification body in Italy, developed a project to facilitate the commercial penetration of Italian companies in Malaysia, with a specific focus on the Halal sector, one of the fastest-growing markets in international trade. Central to the project was the 21st edition of MIHAS (Malaysia International Halal Showcase). CCISEA and WHA arranged a “Collective” participation in the 2025 edition of MIHAS, providing a pre-furnished 19m² space within which CCISEA and WHA staff hosted and presented the products of a group of Italian SMEs, partly selected by CCISEA and partly by WHA. In particular, CCISEA coordinated the participation of Italian companies from the seafood sector, EVO oil producers, truffle-based product manufacturers, and ready-to-eat food companies.
The presence of CCISEA and WHA marked the first-ever Italian participation in MIHAS and attracted considerable interest not only among professional visitors but also from institutional stakeholders.

In collaboration with WHA – World Halal Authority, CCISEA organised two webinars to present the MIHAS project (further analysed in the section of this report relating to trade fairs). The webinars were held on the following dates:
• 11 June 2025
• 10 July 2025
The objective of both events was to promote participation in the stand organised by WHA and CCISEA within the MIHAS 2025 trade fair in Kuala Lumpur. Furthermore, the webinars provided information on the size and potential of the halal market in Malaysia and Southeast Asia for Italian SMEs.
The organising company of the event, Malaysian firm Qube, also took part in the 11 June webinar.
